Hey – It’s January and everyone is having a post Holiday clearance sale. We decided to have a little fun. This week we are holding a FREE outfit Treasure Hunt! This is how it works…

This week only (until Friday, Jan. 7th) there are SIX outfits in our store that have hidden buried treasure. When you purchase one of those outfits you will get another outfit from our store (our choice) absolutely FREE. Here’s the fun part… you have to find the secret outfits.

You can tell your favorite American Girl that all she has to do is add an outfit to the shopping cart, and then click the “View Cart” icon on the upper right hand side of the page. If the outfit she added is one of our secret treasure outfits another outfit will appear in the cart with a price of ZERO. If not… keep hunting! There is no obligation to buy of course it is just for fun – you can choose which treasures you would like to purchase prior to checking out (but you must purchase the secret treasure outfit to get the free stuff of course).

To make it a little easier for you we have added one secret treasure outfit per category (casual, fantasy, dresses, bedtime, sports, outerwear). Plus for some more fun we will be providing two clues per day via our Facebook page (if you don’t have Facebook you are welcome to call us for the clue).

Yes the moment has arrived.  The winners of our design contest have been announced.  Diana Vining won in the adult category for her adorable “Doll Collector” outfit – and in the children’s category Regan Plunkett wowed us with her fabulous tie-dye jean outfit.  Both Diana and Regan won a $100 shopping spree from Emily Rose, but even better, the Wish Doll Company will produce their designs for sale on the Emily Rose website.

Thanks to everyone who submitted a design.  They were all wonderful – it was so fun to see everyone getting involved and voting for their favorites.

We often ask for feedback via our Facebook Fan Page.   I love the opportunity to chat directly to our customers and hear ideas and input.  A few months ago I asked for input on what new designs we should carry in the store and got a TON of feedback.  It seems that our customers have very clear ideas about what they would like their 18 inch doll to be wearing.  Well – we would like to see your ideas.  The winner of our design contest gets a $100 spending spree at Emily Rose PLUS the exciting opportunity to have their design created and available in our store (with your name listed as the designer) as a very special Emily Rose outfit.  Here are the rules:

Age Requirement: 7 – 107 (we hope many Moms will join the fun)

You must be at least 7 years old to enter this contest and if you are under 18 your entry must be posted by a parent (see below for posting details).

Submission: Your design MUST be original – which means out of your head on to the paper – no photographs of existing clothing designs or copied designs please.  Please provide a full color drawing of your design that includes the following:

• A front and back view of the outfit.
• Fabric suggestions – wool, satin, denim, etc…
• Notes on any small details (identify trims, closures, embroidery, etc…)
• Your name, email, state and age
• You may include accessories – but please do not include shoes or accessories that are not made of fabric

Posting: All entries must be posted to our Facebook page so make sure they are of high-quality so you can see the details.  To post to our Facebook Page you must become a fan first – just click here and then click on the “Fan this Page” button.  Once you are a fan you can click on the Photo tab and upload your design as a photo.  If you don’t have a Facebook account you will be asked to join.

How do you win?: We are letting all of you choose the winner.  Once your design is posted any Facebook fan can click the “like” button under the photo.  The design with the most “likes” WINS THE CONTEST!

Deadline: All entries must be received by midnight on March 31st to enter BUT voting starts immediately so the sooner you post your entry the longer you have to collect “like” votes.

UPDATE – VOTING CONTINUES THROUGH MIDNIGHT APRIL 2ND.  WINNER TO BE ANNOUNCED ON APRIL 5TH.

2010 promises to be a very exciting year for Emily Rose & Company! We are starting 2010 with a bang with a fabulous contest.

Keep reading for information on how you can enter this major contest to win one of our Wish Crown Bunk Beds (yes they are sold out, and they sold out early and won’t be back until at least March, but we put one aside just for this contest).  The details of the contest are below but first of all we wanted to let you know about some of things that will be happening around here in 2010…

A New “Raising American Girls” – This is our 3rd generation of the “Raising American Girls” blog.  We will be launching this (our new blog) officially within the next few weeks.  Look out for posts on everything you need to know about raising your American girl – plus contests, giveaways, crafts, product announcements, book reviews, etc…

The New Emily Rose @Home - With the help of our 50 talented and enthusiastic Emily Rose @Home Founder’s Circle Members, we have been improving and refining our home party business opportunity to prepare for wider release in 2010.  Those of you who missed the opportunity the first time can sign-up for more information as we get closer to launch day here.  Those of you who have been asking to host a party but don’t have an @Home consultant close to you will have a much better chance when we widen our availability.

Trading Cards! – Have you seen our free trading cards?  You get one free trading card of our choice with every Emily Rose outfit you order.  Each trading card features one of our fabulous products and every card includes our unique STORY STARTERS ® to encourage your American Girl’s creative doll play.  We have already released 10 different cards you can collect and in 2010 we will be adding 40 (yes 40!) more styles to the collection.

Trading Card Online Playground! – A safe place for your daughter to interact with other trading card owners, enter contests, post photos and videos, write stories, add what-if, etc… Coming in the next few weeks.

Emily Rose TV! – Our own Emily Rose is launching her very own television show to be broadcast on youtube and “Raising American Girls”.  Emily Rose TV will feature news, information and fun for girls aged 7-14.  Look out for the first episode soon and have your daughters join the fun.

Doll Clothes Patterns! – Finally our own Emily Rose brand of downloadable 18 inch doll clothes patterns will be released throughout 2010.  The pattern prices will be low as you have come to expect from Emily Rose and there will be plenty of opportunities to get the patterns for FREE!

Contests and Giveaways! – We are aiming for monthly contests and giveaways this year – let’s see how we do…

New Products and New Furniture! – As always we have new styles of clothing and furniture arriving all of the time here at Emily Rose.  2010 is no exception – look out for our new Triple Bunk Bed coming soon!  If you have any suggestions for products and styles don’t hesitate to contact us.
