So excited about this week’s giveaway. I am so impressed with all of the Easy Lunch Box sites – from their website to Facebook, to Twitter. You know how we love supporting Mom owned businesses.
Here’s my sister Michelle, our resident reviewer…

She juggles parenting and her job as a home-care nurse while hubby works full-time in corporate America and serves as the Chief of the local volunteer fire company. Michelle will be giving you her honest opinion on products and services that we feel you all of you might be interested in. We will be hosting many giveaways for these products as well.
*Please note that Michelle may have received free product on compensation in exchange for these reviews and giveaways. Not a bad deal – she gets to be the guinea pig for all of you and you have the chance to get free stuff! To Mom power!

Easy Lunch Boxes is a simple kid’s lunch box system created by Mom Kelly Lester. But simple does not describe the level of attention and care given to creating an affordable, environmentally safe product. It consists of a cooler bag, available in black, dark red, olive, purple, and aqua and a container with three compartments to organize your lunch. Easy to pack, easy to use, and easy to clean. One or two containers fit in the lunch bag – just like a Bento lunch box. With one container there is plenty of room for extra snacks, fruit, ice packs, or even a water bottle on top. The containers are durable with lids that are easy to use (see Maggie and Jack helping pack their lunch for summer camp).
The price for the cooler bag is $7.95 and the containers are sold in sets of four for $13.95. The prices are reasonable considering the money you would otherwise spend on disposable plastic bags. For our environmentally conscious readers, it contains no BPA, PVC, phthalates, lead, or vinyl. The packaging is simple but clean which I’m sure keeps the costs down. Shipping is via USPS Priority mail or a flat rate of $8.95 for UPS ground, whichever is cheaper. Any orders of $50.00 include free UPS ground shipping. Returns are simple, and for damaged products EasyLunchboxes pays the return shipping!
What I love about these lunchboxes is that they are no frills and good for the environment. It was even named a “Top 5 Eco-Friendly Mommy Must Have” by Parents Ask. But I also love the website! Easy Lunchboxes also has a great website packed with extra information. There are links to healthy lunch ideas, and ideas on how to personalize your lunchboxes for fun or for allergy alerts. It’s easy to navigate from page to page, and information on shipping costs and returns was easy to find. The website had a lot of attention to detail, which leads me to believe that mom and CEO Kelly Lester really cares about the product and wants you to care too. I love the versatility of this product. With containers being sold in four packs, I am able to have one in the dishwasher and one in use. I even packed two lunches in one cooler for Maggie and Jack at summer camp (see video).
The bottom line is that it was easy to review EasyLunchboxes! I love what EasyLunchboxes is trying to do for the environment, my children’s health, and my budget. Maggie is so excited to use the lunchbox for her new back to school lunch box.

My son is in all day Kindergarten 5 days a week so I am always trying to figure out what to do about lunch!! i love all of the neat lunch ideas, but I must say my son’s favorite would be the “Pizza 2 days in a row”

While iit may not be creative, my daughters love fruit especially grapes. I freeze them and by lunchtime they are still a bit frozen and they love them (also helps keep the rest of the lunch cool).

We are always looking for ideas and I loved all of them!!! Our favorite would probably be the grilled chicken strips and the Turkey and cheese rollups. Love the system.

My favorite lunch idea is the mini muffin quiches. My kids like anything that is “mini”!

My daughter loves it when pack an omlette for her tucked up inside an indian bread that we call “parantha” and layer it with some ketchup and roll it like a tortilla .. she loves it

My daughter is in 5th grade and takes her lunch every day. She likes turkey pepperoni, cheese, tortilla and grapes and popcorn for lunch. I usually send the tortilla and let her fix and roll it up herself, seems to be fun

I read the idea to cook a hot dog, put hot water in a thermos, and put the dog in the thermos. That way it’s still hot at lunchtime. Just dump the water and put the dog on a bun (or not).
I also would like the Easy Lunch box because I can’t seem to find the right lunchbox/container fit. It’s so annoying!

My children love pieces of ham, American cheese and stacked on top of whole wheat Ritz crackers. Add some fresh fruit and it like they have a healthy “lunchable”.

My kids like the lunchmeat or leftover chicken and cheese, lettuce, ( or I use some salad from a kit) on a tortilla with a little ranch dressing. Add some fruit, yogurt, and vegetable sticks and they are full until dinner.

We live in southern California where it is hot many months the kids are in school. In addition to using a cold pack, I put fresh grapes, yogurt (Yo-Go) pops, fruit cups and juice boxes in the freezer the night before. I also put cereal bars or cookies containing chocolate in freezer too which prevents them from melting and getting gooey in the hear. This freezer trick allows things thaw during the day and stay cool until lunch time.

The mommy and me lunches were a perfect idea. I really hope to win one of these lunchboxes, ECO FRIENDLY is the only way to go!

This would solve a lot of the problems I have with packing several things for the kids lunch and not having enough space for all the little containers. I try not to use too many plastic baggies so we use little tupperware for as much as we can but only so much fits in their lunchbags. With 3 kids in school and a little one at home who wants lunch packed also these would really make my morning easier.

The lunch boxes are so cool! I love the fact they contain no harmful chemicals. I love picnics so would love to win this! Plus my hubby could use it for his office lunch as packed lunches are cheap compared to boxed ones. I love all the recipe ideas for lunches on the website!

My older daughter is in 9th grade at a school with wonderful, fresh, healthy lunches provided by a service called No Junk, Inc. But on the days when she or her 5th grade sister carry their lunches, we want theim to be as fresh and tasty as we can. It was so helpful on the Easy Lunch Box wesite how much room there is to put in meal fixings — so often by putting things together in the morning they are not as crisp and fresh by lunch time. They always prefer to have their lunches packed in reusable containers. This system will thrill them!

A lot of those lunches looked tasty, but my favorite was probably the first one. I love variety in my lunches and this looks delicious, with two different kinds of crackers, grilled chicken strips, oranges, grapes, tomatoes and beans. These Easy Lunch Boxes look really cool. It keeps your food fresh and you can separate all the different items.

In my household, we are trying to go green along with eating healthy. This will help us with bringing our lunches to school and work. This a great idea!
Thanx

I pretty much just LOVE the fact that there ARE lunch ideas…I get so stuck in the same old same old, I just can’t think of anything else to put in there. I LOVE the cheese cubes, mini salami(?) on a toothpick like a kabob, now THAT is something my super picky son might actually eat. I hate sending him lunch to school knowing that he’s not going to eat half of it, thanks for all the great ideas!

I love the gallery of lunches. I always think that I send a wide variety of items for my kids, but when I checked out the gallery, I found 20 different things to send. My kids will be so excited!

I’ve been searching for a lunch container with compartments that were truly separated, not just an undivided lid so that the contents of one side wouldn’t spill over into the other. I’m wondering how leak proof the lid is since it is designed to kid-friendly and easy to remove. My daughter has issues when stuff leaks — girl drama! I am thrilled to see they are safe from all the bad plastic and even microwave safe for adult lunches. I’ll be buying some and telling my friends!

I LOVE these lunch boxes. My daughter just started kindergarten and this would be perfect! I love so many of the meal ideas….but the peanut butter sandwich, fruit and veggies is a staple in my house!
September 2nd, 2010 at 10:33 am
I am so excited about the lunch ideas. I always feel better about sending my kiddos with lunch over buying hot/school lunches.
My kids just love their pb and honey. I do sprinkle some flaxseed meal in their sandwich for some added omega threes. To spice up the monotony of the pb/honey I change the shape of the sandwich with cookie cutters and other sandwich cutters.
The most important is a note from mom. My mom use to write a note on my napkins growing up. It made my day everyday. My kids look forward to their notes and notice when they are not there. One way to be with them…even though we are apart for the day.

Cute lunchbox! I think I might need one for myself! And the lunch ideas are fabulous. Bella would love the classic turkey and cheese, with the fresh fruit and the cucumbers. Yummy! (I hope you gave Tommy that delicious looking brownie he was reaching for. lol).

My daughter would choose the subway sandwich and strawberries, she won’t take left over pizza to school. She sais mommy but I can get new hot pizza at school so why take the cold stuff LOL gotta love 7 year old logic. I would add yogurt to that one for a dip for the strawberries

My daughters loved uncrustables at a friend’s house, but I’m not so crazy about white bread…so I bought the Pampered Chef sandwich maker and now we go crazy with a variety of fillings in our sammies made with whole wheat bread. A favorite is apricot all-fruit jam with cream cheese…YUM!

I like the idea of the mini muffin quiches, except my kids won’t eat eggs. I wonder if I could use that idea for something that doesn’t involve egg? My other favorite is the mini cheese kabobs. They were served with apples which my older daughter would like, but my younger would prefer grapes. Great ideas!

Love the lunch box. It would be perfect for my grandaugher who likes variety in her luches. She could have her sandwich, fruit and then her crackers. On some days she likes to take crackers, cheese and pepperoni and this would be perfect as they can be in seperate spaces in the box. Great product and good lunch ideas.
September 4th, 2010 at 4:31 pm
My daughter’s favorite was the turkey and cheese roll up with pretzel sticks, raisins and strawberries! She also liked the idea we saw about using souffle cups for ranch dressing – she wants to put carrots in one side and she HAS to have the dip. This lunch box is perfect for our family!!
September 5th, 2010 at 10:41 pm
Muffin tin mini quiches, YUMMM!! I just need the bag and a way to buy the boxes inside. I think I can make a weeks worth of lunch here and then take one out each morning.!!
